Air Astana has announced the successful completion of its 50th C-check maintenance event, carried out on an Airbus A321 at the airline’s in-house Engineering and Technical Centre.

Since 2019, the Kazakhstan-based carrier has independently performed all types of C-check maintenance on Airbus family aircraft at its technical bases in Almaty and Astana. Over this period, the company has established a qualified team of certified engineers and technicians holding European Union Aviation Safety Agency Part-66 licenses, in full compliance with international civil aviation standards.

C-checks are classified as comprehensive heavy maintenance events conducted at specific flight-hour or calendar intervals. The process includes detailed inspections and servicing of critical systems such as the airframe, engines, avionics, and flight control surfaces.

Carrying out scheduled heavy maintenance within its own organization provides the airline with greater operational flexibility, enhanced cost control, and strengthened long-term technical capability.
